Welcome Mini Makers™

Our Mini Makers™ Preschool is a play-based, character-driven community that is developmentally designed to support early childhood education. We offer both part-time as well as full-time enrollment options that focus around cultivating positive character through play, exploration, creativity, and exposure to various developmentally designed academic lessons.

We strive to create a safe, supportive, and integrative learning environment where children can explore, create, and express themselves. All lessons and experiences are intentionally taught by trained Early Childhood Educators to enable children to grow emotionally, socially, intellectually, physically and spiritually. 

LOCATION, HOURS, and capacity

Our Mini Makers™ Preschool operates out of The Makers Place™ located at 2214 21st Street in Sacramento and is licensed by the Department of Social Services and the State of California (Facility Number: 343623934). Our preschool program runs five days a week (Monday through Friday) from 7:00am-6:00pm for up to 25 students at a time to keep our student-to-staff ratios low to increase engagement and safety.

We believe students learn best when they are exposed to developmentally stimulating curriculum that enhances their character. Our Early Childhood Education team uses an Emergent Curriculum approach where we intentionally design all of our curriculum around the interests of our current students, keeping the range of our students’ development in mind along with best practices for social-emotional learning.

Our operation is non-discriminatory, welcoming all children regardless of race, creed, or national origin. Our multi-age group approach provides unique learning opportunities with an integrative, developmental curriculum for children ages two (24 months at the time of enrollment) through six years (first-grade entry). Through our experience and practice, we have found that there are some key developmental milestones that ensure students are ready to enter preschool to support their overall success.

our BEAUTIFUL SPACE!

Located in the heart of Midtown Sacramento (next to the Central YMCA), we’ve transformed this Historic Queen Anne Victorian house into a thriving childhood paradise! The first floor is entirely dedicated to our preschool and childcare programs, with three additional separate levels set up for professional coworking.

In summer 2021, we relocated and expanded our operations, moving just a few blocks away from our original school. With more space, we have increased our enrollment and program offerings as we continue to innovate and create programs for families with young children.

flexible enrollment options

We offer multiple enrollment options for families for either half-day or full-day enrollment for 2 days a week (Tu/Th), 3 days a week (M/W/F), or 5 days a week (M-F).

• Full-Day Program (9.5 hours): 7:45am drop off, 5:15pm pick up (early drop off and late pick up options available at an extra daily fee)

• Half-Day Program (3.25 hours, AM or PM option): 7:45-11:00am OR 2:00-5:15pm (early drop off and late pick up options available at an extra daily fee))

• Extended Program (3 hours, included in Full-Day Program; can add on the AM or PM Half-Day Program as space allows): 11:00am-2:00pm 

ENROLLMENT UPDATES

We are now accepting applications for our 2024-2025 academic year for immediate enrollment for open placements. For students who are not yet 24 months old or those that are interested in future enrollment, please apply here to be placed on our wait list.

If your preferred placement is not currently available, you will be invited to join our active wait list (pre-paying your $25 Admission Processing Fee at the time of application) and will be notified as soon as a placement matching your enrollment preference becomes available.

Our philosophy of learning and teaching pedagogy is developmentally designed around play and exploration, while focusing on enhancing character education in the children and families we serve through core values.
